Help me Rhonda’s Interiors, founded by Rhonda Holloway in 1993, began as a focus on color consultations, painting, faux finishes, furniture, and accessories. In 2005, Rhonda and her husband John opened their first store in Whitby, Ontario, offering a beautiful paint line, draperies, furniture, and accessories. They later purchased a boutique store further south, featuring furniture by Barrymore, bedding by Cuddle Down and Revelle, as well as blinds from Hunter Douglas, Maxxmar, and Sunglow. They also offered stunning fabric for draperies from JF, Robert Allen, and Unique Fine Fabrics, along with a line of wallpapers.
Around 10 years ago, Rhonda and John expanded their services to include complete renovations, addressing issues that clients’ contractors were not adequately handling. This led them to assemble a team of reputable and skilled contractors, including electricians, plumbers, tilers, and flooring specialists. After 30 successful years, John and Rhonda made the bold decision to relocate to Niagara-on-the-Lake, a beautiful wine country. They purchased another home that requires a full renovation and is conveniently situated near a vineyard, offering them a unique experience. Although leaving behind their established clientele was challenging, they embraced the opportunity for a new chapter.
Rhonda has a strong aptitude for home design, excelling in areas such as color coordination, furniture placement, accessories, drapery, blinds, and decluttering. She particularly enjoys working on kitchen renovations, recognizing them as the central gathering place for family and friends. Through conversations with clients, Rhonda gains valuable insights that help her meet their needs. Whether clients have a clear vision or require guidance, she collaborates with them to ensure their comfort with the decision-making process. With years of experience, Rhonda believes that while not everyone knows precisely what they want or like, most individuals are aware of what they do not want in their homes, and it is her responsibility to reach that point of clarity.
John, Rhonda’s husband, possesses extensive experience in various trades. He fearlessly takes on tasks that involve dismantling and reassembling, whether it’s framing a new basement or hanging blinds and draperies. Despite being a retired millwright, John works harder in his later years than ever before.
Aiming to excel in customer service, an area that often lacks attention in the industry, Rhonda and John prioritize delivering top-notch workmanship. They have already begun serving several clients in Niagara-on-the-Lake, thoroughly enjoying their work. Additionally, they have witnessed an increased demand for custom upholstery and have amassed a collection of beautiful wallpaper books and fabrics that cater to this growing trend.
While starting a new business at their age may seem daunting, Rhonda and John embrace the challenge and the opportunity for new beginnings. They find immense joy in their surroundings and are grateful to live in such a remarkable location. Despite the transition, they remain dedicated to their previous clients, considering them like family and holding their memories close.
With no plans for retirement, Rhonda and John anticipate continuing their work for the foreseeable future. Their unwavering commitment to providing exceptional service and prioritizing their clients’ satisfaction remains their driving force.
